A quick flashback this week, to the first ever 'bathtub with a view' hotel that I stayed at. It's called Hotel Indigo on the Bund located in Shanghai, China.

I paid 2500RMB (£250) for a night at the double premier suite overlooking the Huangpu river. You can get rooms without bathroom views for as low as 1600RMB a night. To get my moneys worth, I booked well in advance and requested the best room in the hotel (there are 2 corner rooms, which are considered to have the 'best view'). This is same bathroom view that Hotel Indigo uses on their website photos.
Upon arrival I was treated to the most amazing chocolate cake, green tea, and a cute little handwritten note from the staff. The first thing I did was popped up to the gym & pool, which has equally large windows and impressive views (was unable to take photos for obvious reasons).
The room itself was large, with huge wooden sliding dividers between the bedroom and bathroom/toilet. A ridiculous amount of pillows on the bed, and even more spare pillows in the cupboards. The toilet had one of those 'inner wash' things (a nozzle that sprays warm pulsating water up your bum). Mini bar was beyond expensive. I hesitantly made myself multiple teas from a selection of fancy teabags left on the counter, hoping I wouldn't be charged for them! (thankfully, I wasn't)
|To the far left you can just about make out the iconic Pearl Tower. Every so often huge golden and blue pirate-looking ships would pass along the river.|
|I slept with the curtains open all night... I woke up once in the night and it seriously took me a few moments to realise I wasn't dreaming...|

In conclusion, a decent (yet slightly smoggy) experience. Would have probably enjoyed it more as a romantic couples experience rather than a personal pamper party. Bring the OH. Website & booking.
